Every file uploaded to Cape Advanced TV goes through an automatic Quality Control (QC) check. It makes sure the file matches our specification for the account, country and ad type selected, so it’s ready to be broadcast, published or activated.
What the QC checks
- File Spec – format, bit rate, width and height, display aspect ratio, frame rate and GOP
- Layout – video header (slate and black), frame count and mute frames
- Video – luma and RGB gamut, and scan type
- Audio – loudness, peak levels and audio mapping
To see the specification your file needs to match, use the View Specs link for the ad in your campaign. For more help, see Which technical specification should I use for my ad?
Reading the QC report
If a file fails, you’ll see File failed QC on the QC report tab. Each row that fails the check is highlighted in red.
The report shows the values of the file you uploaded, not the values required. To find the correct value, compare each red row with View Specs for your ad.
Once you’ve fixed the file, re-export it and upload it again. Our Export Guides show how to export to our specification from common editing software.
What the QC doesn’t check
- Content
- Text and graphics safe area
- Dual mono audio
- Slate information (UK, Ireland, Japan and Brazil only)
Make sure these are correct before you upload.
