If your QC report shows Display aspect ratio in red, the shape of your picture doesn't match the specification for your ad.
Display aspect ratio – reading the QC report
- The value next to Display aspect ratio is the aspect ratio of the uploaded file, not the required one. The report shows it as a decimal (width divided by height). For example, 1.778 is 16:9.
- To check the required aspect ratio, see Which technical specification should I use for my ad?
- Use this table to convert the decimal in the report:
| Aspect ratio | Shown in the QC report as |
|---|---|
| 16:9 (landscape) | 1.778 |
| 4:3 | 1.333 |
| 1:1 (square) | 1.000 |
| 4:5 (portrait) | 0.800 |
| 3:4 (portrait) | 0.750 |
| 2:3 (portrait) | 0.667 |
| 9:16 (portrait) | 0.562 |
Display aspect ratio – what it means
Aspect ratio is the shape of the picture: its width compared with its height. TV specifications use 16:9. Digital specifications accept several aspect ratios, from landscape to portrait, and your ad's aspect ratio must match the one set for it.
Display aspect ratio – likely cause
This is usually a wrong spec. Common causes:
- The file was made for a different ad type or aspect ratio, for example a 16:9 file uploaded for a portrait Digital ad, or a portrait file for a TV ad.
- The aspect ratio was set incorrectly in the export settings.
Display aspect ratio – fix
- Click View Specs on your ad to see the aspect ratio your file must have.
- Re-export the file at that aspect ratio using the matching Export Guide.
- Upload the file again.
Display aspect ratio – when to contact Customer Success
- You’ve exported the file using the specification shown by the View Specs link for the ad in your campaign, but it still fails this check.
