If your QC report shows Bit rate or Overall bit rate in red, the amount of data in your file doesn't match the specification for your ad.
Bit rate – reading the QC report
- Bit rate (in the Video section) is the bit rate of the video. Overall bit rate (in the General section) is the bit rate of the whole file, video and audio together.
- The report shows the bit rate of the uploaded file, not the required bit rate. To check the required bit rate, see Which technical specification should I use for my ad?
- The values are in bits per second. For example, 113664000 is about 114 Mbps. The specifications give bit rates in Mbps.
Bit rate – what it means
Bit rate is the amount of data per second in your file. Each TV file format has its own fixed bit rate, so a file in the wrong format almost always fails this check too. The Digital specification accepts a range of bit rates.
Bit rate – likely cause
This is usually a wrong spec. Common causes:
- The file is in the wrong file format. If Format is also red, see File failed QC: Format.
- The bit rate was changed in the export settings.
Bit rate – fix
- If Format is also red, fix the format first. This usually fixes the bit rate too.
- Click View Specs on your ad to see the exact specification your file must match.
- Re-export the file using the matching Export Guide.
- Upload the file again.
Bit rate – when to contact Customer Success
- You’ve exported the file using the specification shown by the View Specs link for the ad in your campaign, but it still fails this check.
